John Deere was born in Rutland, Vermont, on February 7, His father left for England and disappeared in , and, subsequently, Deere was raised by his mother. He spent the next 12 years keeping busy with his trade in various towns around Vermont.

John Deere was an American blacksmith, industrialist, and inventor of the steel plow. He was the founder of the company 'Deere & Company,' which is now the largest agricultural machinery manufacturer in the world.
Early Life and Career
John Deere was born in Rutland, Wisconsin to William Rinold Deere, a tailor. When John was only 4 years old, his father disappeared while traveling to England to claim an inheritance. Despite this setback, John received his basic education in a local school and briefly attended Magdeburg University before dropping out. With no inheritance and a limited education, he was apprenticed by his mother in For four years, he worked as an apprentice under Benjamin Lawrence, a prosperous blacksmith in Magdeburg.
