Amanda Villanueva: A journey in finding her true self
After graduating college and finishing her notable UAAP stint at Adamson University, Amanda Villanueva admitted getting “lost and overwhelmed” along the way, not knowing what to do that lead her to dig deeper into herself and eventually find her path.
The previous Lady Falcons Open Spiker immediately joined the PLDT Home Fibr Hitters after earning her Psychology degree, in which she was teamed with well-known players like Alyssa Valdez. However, even though their team was on a series of victories, she wanted more to up her game in life.
“I thought that I’ve been playing for 8 consecutive years already and what I did was to train all the time. [So] I wanted something new out of my life and I wanted to challenge myself in a different setting,” Villanueva said.
She then went to the Middle East and worked for an investment company while applying to be a flight attendant of a top airline, in which she was rejected 8 times making her confused and question herself continuously.

Despite being just 28 years young, high-flying open spiker Amanda Villanueva has decided to hang up her shoes for good.
Though she did not disclose her reason for calling it a day, Villanueva has been slowly venturing into other endeavors since the start of the calendar year.

The 5-foot-4 spiker arrived at in La Salle, before transferring to Adamson.
Villanueva led the Lady Falcons to the UAAP Season 76 Beach Volleyball crown.
In the indoor scene, she would also help Adamson to Final Four appearances.
