LH: Vous avez fait vos études d’ingénieur. Quand avez-vous réalisé que vous vouliez vous lancer dans la joaillerie ?
LB: J’ai toujours créé des objets. C’est le créateur, c’est celui qui ne voit pas ce qui le satisfait et qui crée les besoins. En France, j’ai créé le skateboard avec des roulettes de patins que j’ai récupéré, j’ai fait des meubles et des flacons de parfum, mais j’ai créé principalement des bijoux. Parce que les bijoux c’est une histoire personnelle. Ma maman qui est femme de diplomate et qui est super, lorsqu’elle sort le soir, elle devient une princesse. Elle mets des bijoux et c’est le bâton magique que transforme les femmes en princesses : le bâton magique ce sontles bijoux. C’est comme ça que je me suis concentré aux bijoux mais on fait plein d’autres choses aussi.
LH: Vous avez conçu la boutique de la place Vendôme. Quelles sont vos sources d’inspiration pour la décoration ?
LB: On a fait la décoration de la boutique et dans ce cadre, comme je suis un très grand collectionneur, nous avons une très belle collection photos de l

Paris-based jewelry designer Lorenz Bäumer, that had designed anonymously for Chanel and Baccarat has designed a fine jewelry collection for Louis Vuitton.
The collection is named L&#;âme du Voyage (“the soul of the tripâ€) and connects Louis Vuitton’s travel heritage with Bäumer’s own penchant for going places, in fact he has lived in Bonn, Germany; Amman, Jordan; Montreal; and Tel Aviv.
The collection consists of six sets, a one-of-a-kind necklace the focal point of each, with prices running up to $ million.
The theme of the collection is circles, which Bäumer describes as a symbol of perfection, he says: “in all the cultures, civilizations and trips that I’ve encountered, there are always circles, and they always symbolize perfection.â€
Bäumer adds his mission is to help Vuitton be “recognized, admired and respected as a jeweler. We wanted to show at the beginning the vision, the capacity of creating incredible pieces in terms of craftsmanship, and the ability to tell a story. It’s like writing a book. We just wrote a chapter.â€

When Franco-German jeweller Lorenz Bäumer, a trained engineer, set up his own Maison in , it was not his first try.
