The Life of Abraham
Abraham is one of the most blessed people in the Bible. Although Scripture is not a comprehensive history of humans it does, however, chronicle the relationship of one man and his descendants with the Creator of the Universe. Ultimately, it is a record of how God has and will bless mankind through the life of the next person in our timeline.
The apostle Paul not only confirms that the world is blessed through Abraham's faithful life but also that anyone who has faith in God is considered one of his spiritual sons and heir of the promises.
Because of this, you should understand that those who are of faith are the true sons of Abraham.
Now in the Scriptures, God, seeing in advance that He would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." It is for this reason that those who are of faith are being blessed with the believing Abraham. (Galatians - 9, HBFV, see also Romans ).
Abraham, without a doubt, lived a most fascinating life! Abram (his birth name before God renamed him) was born in the city of Ur of the Chaldees to a family that included older brothers Haran and
Charles Fritts Edit Profile
engineer
Charles Fritts was the American inventor credited with creating the first working Selenium Cell in
Career
Fritts coated the semiconductor material selenium with an extremely thin layer of gold. The resulting cells had a conversion electrical efficiency of only about 1% owing to the properties of selenium, which in combination with the materials high cost prevented the use of such cells for energy supply. Selenium cells found other applications however, for example as light sensors for exposure timing in photo cameras, where they were common well into the s.
Solar cells later became practical for power uses after Russell Ohls development of silicon p/n junction cells that reached efficiencies above 5% by the s/s.
Todays best silicon solar cells are over 40% efficient, with industrial average over 17%.
Who Invented the Solar Panel?
The solar energy industry is growing at the second fastest rate in the world out of all the renewable resources and provides millions of people with power. Today, you see solar panels on your daily drive to the grocery store, through national parks, and even on space stations and satellites. But who invented the solar panel that is driving the renewable energy movement?
The basis of modern solar panels was invented by Charles Fritts in in New York City. However, without the discovery of the photovoltaic effect by Alexandre Edmond Becquerel and the development of the solar cell by Richard Evans Day and William Grylls Adams, the solar panel we know may not have been developed.
In this article, we will explore the beginnings of solar cell, solar panels, and the photovoltaic effect.
What is the photovoltaic effect, and who discovered it?
Before we get into Charles Fritts’s story, we have to shed some light on the photovoltaic effect. This was a phenomenon discovered in by Alexandre Edmond Becquerel, a French physicist. At 19 years old, he exposed an electrode to different types of light and discovered that under the correct conditions, sunlight
